Bangor's Chinese New Year celebrations are a sight to behold.
A Gwynedd city was given a taste of the orient to help ring-in the Chinese New Year .
Among the highlights was a 15 metre long prop dragon which wound its way through the city centre accompanied by dancers and drummers dressed in traditional costume as part of a parade.
hundreds gathered to watch the spectacle on Saturday, which was arranged by Bangor University’s Confucius Institute.
For the event, performers from the Confucius Institute and Our Lady’s School at Bangor University joined pupils from London South Bank University for a vibrant display of Chinese culture in the city centre.

As well as a parade, a gala also took place featuring Chinese song and dance, instrumental pieces and a special Chinese/Welsh duet of Ar Hyd y Nos (All Through the Night)
Special guests on the day included Bangor mayor councillor Dewi Williams and local actress Angharad Rhodes, 13, who is best known for her leading role in the CBeebies television series Melody.
Angharad, who introduced some of the performances and who is currently learning Mandarin with the Confucius Institute, said: “It’s great to be involved with such a fun and colourful event.
“I've been learning Chinese for two years now, and experiencing Chinese culture firsthand like this really helps me to understand the language and the people better.
