On October 29, Bangor University (BU) launched its annual Opening Day. Led by the Dean of the Confucius Institute at Bangor University (CI at BU) and together with other staff, all the teachers and volunteers of the CI at BU received many students and parents from all over the UK. They actively promoted the courses and activities of the CI at BU, and enhanced the popularity of the CI at BU in local communities and beyond, creating a beautiful landscape in the BU campus.

Bangor University has more than 12,000 students, including over 700 Chinese students. The university is known for spreading Chinese language and culture in the city. At present, the CI at BU has close contact with the Chinese Scholars and Students Association and has hosted many big events every year. In addition, many visiting scholars and local Chinese people have been willing to join the communication team to spread Chinese language and culture. With the cooperation of several parties and under the principle of friendly cooperation of “Double Dragon” (the Welsh region of the UK has also been advocating the dragon culture), the CI at BU has been promoting the teaching of Chinese language and culture in the Welsh area. It has also been providing a multi-level and all-round cultural experience while actively promoting deep-seated cultural exchanges and research between the two schools and the two countries.
