The Galati Teaching Center of CI at UB Holds Course-Commencing Ceremony

On October 27, 2016 (local time), the course-commencing ceremony of Galati Teaching Center of the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (CI at UB), Romania, was held in the Multilingual Conference Center. Invited by CI at UB and the Romanian-Chinese Association for Sustainable Development, Liang Caide, Consul General in Constanta, Lonut Pucheanu, Mayor of Galati, Enache Sorin, Deputy Mayor of Galati, Spiridon Alexandru, Chairman of the Romanian-Chinese Association for Sustainable Development attended the commencement ceremony, together with the Vice Principal of Emil Racovita High School and many students.

During the ceremony, Liang Caide, Consul General in Constanta, Lonut Pucheanu, Mayor of Galati, Enache Sorin, Deputy Mayor of Galati and other officials also participated in the economic forum. The participants exchanged views on promoting bilateral economic cooperation and expressed their gratitude to the CI at UB for its outstanding contribution in promoting Romanian-Chinese economic and cultural exchanges.

Later, accompanied and guided by the volunteers of the CI at UB, the participants visited the exhibition on Chinese cities. Mayor Lonut Pucheanu kindly talked to the volunteers about their lives in Romania. He also expressed support for the Chinese teaching activities in Galati organized by the CI at UB.

Finally, Consul General Mr.Liang presented a wood carving of Confucius and traditional Chinese lantern crafts to the CI and the Romanian-Chinese Association for Sustainable Development. He encouraged the attendees to carry out more cooperation and cultural exchange activities so as to enhance mutual understanding and deepen cooperation in various fields.

The course-commencing ceremony attracted wide attention and marked the starting point of Chinese teaching courses in the Galati Teaching Center of the CI at UB.
