On the morning of May 20, 2016, Ms. Jennifer Mnookin, Dean of the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) Law School and her party paid a visit to CUPL at the Haidian Campus. Prof. Shi Jianzhong, CUPL Vice President, extended his warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of CUPL.
Prof. Shi mentioned that CUPL paid great attention to international education and looked forward to a formal intercollegiate relation with UCLA. He expressed the wish that the two universities would expand cooperation into other areas of common interests based on the current collaboration in the distinguished disciplines of Law.
Prof. Mnookin stated that CUPL students performed very well among all overseas students enrolled in the LL.M, JD and SJD programs of UCLA. In the 2016-2017 academic year, CUPL graduates accounted for one third of all Chinese students admitted into the UCLA LL.M Program. In consideration of that, Prof. Mnookin offered to grant scholarships to CUPL students admitted into their LL.M Program.
