On March 27, 2015, CUPL’s School of International Law hosted the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 International Criminal Court (ICC)Trial Competition, jointly organized by CUPL and ICC, at the Changping campus. Sixteen teams, including delegations from Tsinghua and Peking Universities, participated in this event.
After two days of intense competition, three teams emerged as the best teams while three others were awarded first prize. In addition, four teams became runners-up, five teams snatched third prize, and three teams qualified for best memorials. Individual awards such as best government counsel, best prosecutor and best victim’s counsel were also decided. Three teams eventually stood out as best, with the CUPL Varsity Team ranking first, China Foreign Affairs University in second and University of International Business & Economics in third. Those three teams will represent China in the finals, which will be held at The Hague the Netherlands in the upcoming days.
