CUPL Emerged as Victorious Title Defender in CASC Cup Moot Court Competition

The 11th Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition (the CASC Cup of China Division) successfully came to an end on December 21st at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). After two days’ fierce contests, our two teams,composed of six undergraduates, distinguished themselves among the 12 competing teams from 8 universities. Our first team snatched the Championship of China Division. Li Qianyao, Cai Jiahong, members of that team, were awarded as “the ace debaters”; our second team acquired the runner-up title in the same Division. Prof. Li Juqian was awarded as the best tutor. So far, this was the 8th Championship that our university has won in this renowned game.

This round of CASC Cup Competition was sponsored by China Institute of Space Law, financially assisted by China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation(CASC) and co-organized by the Department of Treaty &Law under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and BIT.

After the end ofthe contests, a symposium on the International Space Law Moot Court Competition was held by the sponsor. Prof. Li Juqian, as the awarded best tutor, delivered a keynote speech on the venue, briefing the audiences on our unique and scientific ways either to cultivate high-end talents who meet international standards, or to thoroughly train our students on the daily basis.

It is learned that CUPL team would leave for Indonesia to attend the Asia & Pacific Division Competition in next May.
