On December 2, 2013, The International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL International) formally informed our university that, Prof. Li Shuguang, Director of CUPL’s Research Center for Bankruptcy Law and Corporate Restructuring, and Executive Vice-President of our Graduate School, was elected as a member of the INSOL International’s new board of directors. His tenure of office will last 3 years, beginning November 22, 2013. From its 1982 establishment to date, Li Shuguang is the sole member from China selected to serve on INSOL International's board. President of INSOL International, James Spreiregen and its Executive Director, Claire Broughton each sent their "welcome on-board" messages to Prof. Li Shuguang and expressed high hopes that Chinese bankruptcy restructuring professionals will play a more active role in the operations of the international organization.
The board of INSOL International currently has 15 directors, and each must meet the following requirements: possessing the highest professional and moral quality, having rich experience in the area of bankruptcy, exercising great leadership skills and demonstrating outstanding academic achievement in that area.
