Given the success of other cooperative arrangements, he expressed that, with the support of Mr. А. И. Chairperson А. И. Бастрыкин stated that this was his first visit to China at the invitation of China’s Ministry of Public Security. He thought highly of the great achievements reached by China and was glad to visit CUPL. He provided information concerning the general status of the Investigative Committee of Russian Federation. Mr. А. И. Бастрыкин voiced his willingness not only to push forward Sino-Russian legal exchanges, but also to support CUPL’s cooperation with Russian colleges and universities. Soon afterwards, CUPL Vice President Zhang Baosheng briefed our visitors on developments in the area of evidentiary legal research and other progress and achievements that CUPL has made in this area of law. He also detailed the current state of events concerning the cooperation between CUPL’s Center of Cooperative Innovation for Judicial Civilization and the teaching and research institutions of Germany, Switzerland, Italy, South Korea, and other nations. He hoped that by using that Center as a platform, CUPL could conduct cooperation with certain relevant Russian institutions. At the same time, Chairperson А. И. Бастрыкин also thought that the platform could play a very important role in future Sino-Russian legal exchanges and cooperation. It was clear that there is an ample space for potential cooperation between CUPL and many branches of the Russian Federal Investigative Committee.

After the meeting, Chairperson А. И. Бастрыкин visited CUPL Criminal Investigation Laboratory and viewed students’ experimental activities.
