From July 6th to 25th, 2012, 21 students and 2 leading professors from CUPL participated in the Michigan Court Summer Program in Macomb County, Michigan (U.S.).
During the program, CUPL students and professors attended lectures delivered by professors of the University of Michigan and the Chief Justice of Michigan Supreme Court concerning American law and judicial practice. The team members also participated in a three-day court internship, and visited the Michigan Supreme Court and a local law firm. In addition, the delegation was warmly received by the Mayor of Macomb County as well as representatives of the State of Michigan. They were even lucky enough to meet with the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and witness Congressional debate of a bill.
The delegation also visited the Detroit Institute of Arts, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial and other places, affording them a more personal encounter with the history and culture of the United States.
