On April 18, 2012, CUPL Vice-President Zhu Yong met with Spanish Ambassador to China Eugenio Bregolat and also María Salcedo (First Secretary of Spain’s Embassy in China) at the Changping (undergraduate) Campus.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Bregolat delivered a lecture titled European Integration, the Debt Crisis, and Spain to CUPL faculty and students. The lecture presented a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of European integration, the current debt crisis, and Spain’s economic status. The ambassador’s speech stimulated the interest of the more than 100 attendees, and many of them raised questions concerning the veto right of EU members, differences between northern and southern European countries in the debt crisis, cooperation between China and Spain enterprises, and other matters. CUPL Office of International Cooperation and Exchange Deputy Director Professor Li Guoqiang presided over the forum.
