CUPL President Huang Jin delivers a speech at the opening ceremony
Professor Gilles Trudeau delivers a speech
October 24, 2011 marked the 10th anniversary of cooperation between CUPL and the University of Montreal.
Ceremonies were held on the first floor of the library of the CUPL Changping District campus. CUPL President
Huang Jin and University of Montreal Dean Gilles Trudeau participated in the festivities. The morning celebrations
included the opening ceremony, a lecture, and a photo exhibition highlighting the cooperation between the
two universities.
During the afternoon the CUPL Law School and University of Montreal Law School held a joint academic forum,
presenting the comparisons between China’s and Canada’s legal institutions and cultures. Canadian Embassy
envoy Sarah Taylor and others spoke at the forum.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, President Huang Jin awards the Outstanding Cooperation Contribution Award
to Guy Lefebvre. Professor Gilles Trudeau conferred the Cooperation Contribution Medals of Honor to CUPL
international law school dean Mo Shijian and associate professor Jiao Jie.
Professor Gilles Trudeau and visitors signed the guest book. CUPL faculty and students listened to vice-dean
Lefebvre’s lecture regarding studying abroad in Canada and exchange programs between CUPL and the
University of Montreal.
President Huang Jin guides visitors through the photo exhibition, highlighting the universities’ cooperative activities
and achievements over the past ten years.
