May 16, 2022 will mark the 70th birthday of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). We extend our sincere greetings and highest tribute to leaders, friends, and our alumni at home and abroad, who have engaged themselves in supporting and facilitating the development of the university.
CUPL’s predecessor (Peking College of Political Science and Law founded in 1952) was originally located at Shatan Honglou in Beijing. Since its founding, the university has participated in the endeavor of the Republic of China (PRC) to advance the rule of law. CUPL adheres to its motto, Houde Mingfa Gewu Zhigong, literally keeping integrity and law in mind and studying for the people, developing moral education, mastering the law, looking for truth and serving for the public. It was praised as the “the most prestigious law school for legal talent cultivation in China” and “the important research hub of the research of humanities and social sciences” for assuming a leading role in the innovation of national legal education, legal theory and legal thought. On May 3, 2017, President Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) visited CUPL and delivered an important speech. President Xi’s speech served as a guideline for the development of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.
At the historical juncture of marching towards the second centenary goal, CUPL will hold its 70th birthday in a solemn and pragmatic opportunity for stepping up the program of the “Double-First Class initiative”. Under the theme of “Splendid History and a New Course towards Promising Future”, we welcome alumni and friends from all sectors to attend the grand celebration at CUPL!
