Shenzhen Branch of Alumni Association of CUPL Celebrates CUPL's 69th Birthday at Its 2021 Annual Meeting


To celebrate the 69th birthday of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and to strengthen the exchange and communication between alumni in Shenzhen, on the morning of May 23, the Shenzhen Branch of Alumni Association of CUPL held its 2021 annual meeting in Futian, Shenzhen. Feng Shiyong, Vice President of CUPL and President of the Alumni Association, Yu Yunyi, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of CUPL, Zhou Rongsheng, Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Shenzhen People’s Congress, Wang Pu, former Vice Chair of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Hu Jiannong, former Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Wang Ping, a member of CUPL Board of Trustees, Li Huan, Deputy Director of CUPL Alumni Office, Wang Ping, Deputy Secretary General of CUPL Alumni Association, and representatives of the alumni associations of Peking University Law School, Renmin University of China Law School, Wuhan University Law School and other institutions attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by two CUPL alumni, Chen Chen of grade 2008 and Yang Yang of grade 2011.

At the meeting, Zhang Lijie, President of the Shenzhen Branch of CUPL Alumni Association, made a speech. She welcomed the representatives of the alumni associations of colleges and universities and all the guests, and thanked CUPL for providing support and care to the alumni. She then introduced the works of the Shenzhen Branch in 2020. Then, Wang Jianlin, Executive Chair, and Li Jingyou, Chair of the Board of Supervisors of the Shenzhen Branch of CUPL Alumni Association, respectively made the work reports of the Shenzhen Branch and the Board of Supervisors in 2020.

In his speech, Feng Shiyong, on behalf of the university and CUPL Alumni Association, first expressed congratulations on the successful holding of the conference, and expressed a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the guests and alumni for their presence. He said that the Shenzhen Branch of CUPL Alumni Association, as one of the oldest branches of the CUPL Alumni Association, has made significant strides and has formed a strong synergy among all alumni in Shenzhen. Feng encouraged all alumni to actively respond to the donation initiative of “I send my blessings for CUPL's 70th anniversary” to help the university develop into a world-class university with Chinese characteristics at an early date. He also hoped that the Shenzhen Branch of CUPL Alumni Association would continue to serve as a flagship branch and wished CUPL greater achievements in talent training and discipline construction. Finally, he hoped China would make more strides in advancing the rule of law and the Chinese people realize the Chinese dream soon.

At the meeting, the Shenzhen Branch of CUPL Alumni Association and the CUPL signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation. Feng Shiyong awarded the plaque of “Practice Base” to Shenzhen Branch of Alumni Association. Li Huan awarded Li Jingyou, Wei Meng, Zhu Bin, Chen Xiu, and Zhan Bin the Certificates of Career Mentor, and presented medals to the outstanding alumni representatives in 2020.
