On October 26, 2017, one of activities of the “Chinese Culture Week”, the Chinese Movie Night, was held at the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (CI at UB). Prof. Dong Jingbo, Chinese Co-Director of the CI at UB, and several faculty attended the movie night event. Faculty and students of the CI at UB attended the event to get closer to the Chinese history and culture through a Chinses movie. This activity was a lively and interesting part of the “Chinese Culture Week”.

The movie selected by the CI at UB was CZ12, also known as Chinese Zodiac. This movie tells a story about how Chinese people retrieved the precious bronze sculptures of Chinese Zodiac animal heads lost in the late Qing Dynasty from all around the world. The movie not only presented the beauty of Chinese films but is also of great educational significance.

After the movie, an interaction session with prized quizzes was held. The audience were asked to figure out Chinese characters based on their knowledge of the Chinese language.
