CI at UB Welcomes the FLTRP Delegation

On November 15 (local time), Fan Xiaohong, Vice President of the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP), and her party paid a visit to the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (CI at UB). The delegation visited the teaching places, library, and Chinese culture showroom at the CI and had a cordial talk with Prof. Dong Jingbo, Chinese Co-Director of the CI at UB, and Prof. Luminita Balan, Romanian Co-Director of the CI at UB.

The two directors introduced the development of CI at UB in detail. Founded in November, 2013, the Institute has established two Confucius Classrooms at Liceu Ferdin and Colegiul Economic A.D. Xenopol, as well as over 10 teaching sites in the Romanian-American University and other schools. The current enrollment stood at over 2,000, covering students from kindergarten all the way to university. The CI at UB has been committed to promoting Chinese culture through teaching and cultural events and its influence has extended from the capital city and throughout Romania.

Ms Fan Xiaohong, Vice President of the FLTRP, said that the FLTRP would like to cooperate with the CI at UB to publish Chinese/Romanian bilingual books in Romania. After the meeting, Ms Fan Xiaohong presented Key Concepts in Chinese Thought published by the FLTRP to the two directors as gifts.
