Published:2016-11-07

In Mid-October (local time), the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (CI at UB), Romania, was invited to co-organize the annual International Week with the International School of Bucharest. This year’s exhibition consisted of several classrooms, and each classroom represented a country. Students would visit different classrooms and participate in various events. Teachers from the two schools prepared a series of activities in the Showroom of China while its lively atmosphere attracted many local faculty and students.

The International Week aimed at helping students worldwide to learn different languages and cultures. The events began at 9:00 am and lasted until 12:00 am. Many students came to the showroom of China to experience Chinese culture and study Chinese language. Before the event, teachers from the CI had decorated the classroom with Chinese knots, facial decor of the Beijing Opera, lanterns and other icons with Chinese traditional features to convey a strong sense of traditional Chinese culture. Also, teachers of the CI had designed various colorful events, such as “DIY Chinese Dragon” and “Word-Guessing”.

It is known that, the CI at UB has been committed to communicating with local students since its establishment. Up to now, it has established long-term cooperation with several schools. It has been helping local students to learn Chinese culture through first-hand experience and has organized various Chinese language courses. In this year's International Week, the CI has fully presented the charm of Chinese culture for students worldwide. It can be believed that the CI at UB will continue to play its important role in culture communication, and Chinese culture will continue to deeply impress foreign children.
