The qualification contest for the Romanian Division of the 14th "Chinese Bridge"—Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students was successfully held at the Chinese embassy to Romania on May 10, 2015. The contest was jointly organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest in Romania (UB) and the education section of the Chinese embassy to Romania.

Over two hundred attendees watched the contest. Among them were Mr. Xu Feihong, Chinese Ambassador to Romania, Prof. Romita Iucu Bumbu, Vice-Rector of UB, Mrs. Anca Pegulescu, Inspector General of Foreign Language Education in Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth & Sports, as well as faculty members and students from Confucius Institutes and related Chinese-teaching classrooms in that country.

Twenty Romanian contestants from across the country participated in preliminaries and emerged as finalists in the division final, which came to a successful ending after four hours’ fierce competition. The contest consisted of four parts like "writing in good Chinese", "delivering a speech on 'Chinese Dream'", "quiz on Chinese language and culture", and "related talent show".

Two student contestants from the Confucius Institute at Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca outperformed their peers, winning the outstanding prize and the first prize respectively. They will represent Romania in the quarter-finals of the “Chinese Bridge” competition to be held in China.
