On February 3, 2015, the opening ceremony of the 2nd Chinese Culture Exhibition was held by the Confucius Institute affiliated to University of Bucharest (CI at UB) at Palace of the Parliament in Romania. People of all walks of life attended that ceremony, including Chinese Ambassador to Romania Xu Feihong, the officials of Romanian Ministry of Culture & National Cultural Heritage and Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth & Sports, and so on. Ambassador Xu Feihong delivered a speech at that special occasion.
There were a great variety of exhibits on the show, including grand and magnificent calligraphy works and traditional Chinese paintings, delicate and elegant porcelain, musical instruments and tea sets, and superb seal cuttings and paper cuts; as well as The Art of War by Sun Zi, ferules and abaci, which demonstrated the great wisdom of the Chinese nation. Comparing to last session, the current one also created a display area for the Chinese Zodiac and a collection of colorful photographs. These brilliant pictures were exclusively provided by Xinhua News Agency, which not only vividly showed the contemporary life of Chinese people, but also led viewers to sense the great transformation China is currently undergoing.
At the opening ceremony, teachers of CI at UB performed the arts of calligraphy, tea ceremony, Chinese Zither (Gu zheng), Go chess(Weiqi), paper-cutting and Peking Opera facial painting to the distinguished guests on the spot.
