Time flies like an arrow. Before anyone realized, the first birthday of the bustling CI at the University of Bucharest (UB) was at hand. It arrived imperceptibly in this beautiful late autumn. On November 17, 2014, a seminar on Chinese teaching was launched to usher in celebrations to mark the special occasion.
On the morning of November 17, 2014, the volunteer teachers from the Department of Chinese Language at UB’s Faculty of Foreign Languages & Literatures and other Chinese-teaching classes in Bucharest, as well as all the faculty members of CI at UB attended the seminar. Mr. Bian Zhengdong, the Director of the Education section at the Embassy of China in Romania, looked back on the establishment of CI with great affection and thought highly of the teaching accomplishments CI has achieved in the past year. Ms. Vasan, a Professor of UB’s Department of Chinese Language, elaborated on her research concerning the sentence patterns of “把/bǎ”, which immersed the audience in a great academic atmosphere. Afterwards, CI teachers and other attendees shared their experiences and discussed knotty problems concerning certain types of Chinese classes like the Adult’s Chinese Class, Children’s Chinese Class, Tutorial Class for HSK exam, News Media Class, and the Chinese Listening & Speaking Class. The overall ambience of the seminar was warm and simple. From beginning to end, the predominant matters were both academic and practical. Participants of the meeting agreed that the seminar was of great benefit to the Chinese teachers in Romania and more similar activities should be arranged in the future to share their teaching experiences and to improve the local Chinese teaching.
In order to celebrate its first birthday, CI at UB will organize more unique and meaningful activities in the following week.
