The Bangor Carnival in the UK lasted for one week, and the climax of that celebration was the floats parade staged on June 8th. Confucius Institute of Bangor University participated in the parade at the invitation of the municipal government. Its float was extraordinarily eye-catching and stood out among the many western-style processions.
Bangor is a small outlying town with a little over 20,000 local residents. When the Carnival is staged in this commonly quite and peaceful town, a huge number of visitors pour in from out of the blue. The teams of waist drums (Yaogu) and fan dancers from the Confucius Institute attracted the attention of numerous spectators.
