On February 12 (local time), the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (the CI at Bucharest), co-operated by CUPL and the University of Bucharest (UB), and the International School of Bucharest (ISB) co-held the Chinese Spring Festival gala with the theme of “Gentle snow heralds harvest, golden ox welcomes spring”. The gala was held online during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The gala began with a video Beautiful China, Delightful Festival. He Mengye, a Chinese teacher of the CI at Bucharest and an Erhu performer performed the Erhu solo WuJi (literally “Without Constraint”); Pang Haifan, the national Wushu champion of China performed Chinese Wushu; Students at the CI and their parents performed the song Your smile is so beautiful. The excellent Chinese cultural feast was shared with the audience online. Before the end of the gala, Chinese Co-Director Li Li, on behalf of the CI, delivered the new year greeting to all audience and guests.
