On October 30 , the Confucius Institute at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies, Barbados (the CI at Barbados), and the National Library of Barbados jointly held a book donation ceremony. David Bulbulia, Foreign Co-Director and Li Renyan, Chinese Co-Director of the CI at Barbados attended the event. In their speech, the two directors hoped that the two sides would conduct more cooperation and exchanges in the future. Jennifer Yarde, Acting Curator of the Library, expressed her thanks to the CI at Barbados for the donation and said that the promotion of Chinese culture and language would be a key step to turn Barbados into a multilingual society. The donation not only enriched the collections of the National Library of Barbados, but also strengthened the people-to-people exchanges among China, Barbados and the Caribbean region. It also help more young people experience the charm of the Chinese culture.
