On September 19, Jiangyu, Chinese Ambassador to Romania held a reception at the Chinese Embassy in Romania to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Over 600 people attended the reception, including government leaders such as Romanian Prime Minister Dăncilă, Senate President Meleskanu, former President Constantinescu, leaders of Romania-China friendship organizations, representatives from all walks of life, national envoys in Romania, and representatives from Chinese-funded institutions, overseas Chinese, and representatives from the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (the CI at Bucharest). Volunteer teachers from the CI at Bucharest, which is co-established by CUPL and the University of Bucharest,displayed Chinese traditional talents such as the art of tea-making, calligraphy and paper-cutting at the reception, adding a strong Chinese atmosphere to the scene. In front of the Chinese booth, foreign guests enjoyedand indulged themselvesin the unique charm of the Chinese culture. After the meeting, Ambassador Jiang Yu expressed her approval and appreciation for the work done bythe CI at Bucharest.
