CI at Bangor Successfully Holds the 35th Chu Cai Chinese Essay Writing Competition

On June 23 (local time), the Confucius Institute at Bangor University (the CI at Bangor), which was jointly founded by CUPL and Bangor University, successfully held the 35th “Wudang Mountain and Kanghui Tourism”Chu Cai Chinese Essay Writing Competition for the UK Division. It was the second time for the Chu Cai Chinese Essay Writing Competition to be held in Bangor, UK. There were 5 Chinese children from Bangor area participating the competition, and the students were all between 9-14 years old. The theme of this year’s Chu Cai Chinese Essay Writing Competition was "my motherland and me". It encouraged overseas Chinese and Chinese children to learn the charm of Chinese characters and ancient Chinese culture, and to participate in telling the "Chinese stories" through essay writing.

In this competition, all the five students from the CI at Bangor achieved marvellous results. Among them, Li Jiyao’s “My Favorite Trip to Beijing”, Yu Ziying's “Dream in China”, and Zhen Xueqi's “A Tour of Discovering the Beauty of China ” won the first prize; Zhao Jiasheng's “My Favorite Chinese Culture” and Yu Yunxi's “Travel on the Tip of the Tongue” won the second prize.
