CI at Barbados Participates in the 70th Anniversary of the founding of China

On September 16, Yan Xiusheng, Chinese Ambassador to Barbados, held a reception at the Hilton Hotel to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Nearly 350 people attended the reception, including Sandra Mason, Governor-General of Barbados,Mia Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados,Marston Gibson, Chief Justice of Barbados and other State leaders, Eudine Barriteau, President of the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies, representatives from Barbados-China Friendship Association, Barbados China Alumni Association, Chinese-owned enterprises in Barbados, Chinese Medical Team in Barbados,Overseas Chinese Friendship Association and teachers and students from Confucius Institute at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies, Barbados (the CI at Barbados). Ambassador Yan Xiusheng said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Barbados, the relations between the two countries had continued to develop in a healthy and stable manner, and bilateral cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results. On behalf of the Barbados government and people, Prime Minister Mottley also extended warm congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.During the reception, students from the Chinese classroom of Charles Bloom Memorial Primary School under the CI at Barbados sang a Chinese song Song and Smile. On Sunday, students fromthe Chinese language school sang the song I am a Bajan.
