On January 6, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) was successfully held. Hu Ming, Council Chair of CUPL, Ma Huaide, President of CUPL, Feng Shiyong, Vice President of CUPL, Wu Jianwei, Council Chair of BUPT, Qiao Jianyong, President of BUPT, and Sun Hongxiang, Vice President of BUPT, attended the signing ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Feng Shiyong.
In his speech, CUPL Council Chair Hu Ming extended a warm welcome to the BUPT delegation and expressed his sincere thanks to BUPT for its care, support, and help towards CUPL. He pointed out that CUPL and BUPT are geographically adjacent and academically complementary. Such contiguity and complementarity serve as the solid foundation for the two universities to step up existing practical cooperation. He hoped that the two partners could complement each other with their respective disciplinary advantages as well as quality educational resources and human resources for better university administration and talent cultivation, for the sense of happiness and sense of gain among the faculties and students, and for their contributions to implementing the national development strategies and facilitating socio-economic development.
BUPT Council Chair Wu Jianwei stated that CUPL boasted significant resources for the advancement of the rule of law, and BUPT has disciplinary strength in IT, sci-tech and network. Leveraging complementary resources, the two universities would be able to meet the needs of the times and to serve national strategies. Finally, he stressed that the signing of this cooperation agreement would be a starting point for more collaboration in the future. He also expected that, through joint efforts, the partnership between CUPL and BUPT would become a model of interdisciplinary and cross-field cooperation between universities.
