CUPL Law School Wins the Title of "Advanced Group of Legal Publicity and Education in Beijing"

Recently, the Law School of China University of Political Science (CUPL) won the title of "Advanced Group of Legal Publicity and Education in Beijing". During 2016 and 2020 (the seventh period for legal publicity and education in China), the Law School of CUPL, with its locational advantage and leading discipline resources, had advanced the rule of law in administration, improved relevant rules and procedures, created the favorable conditions for legal publicity and education, and strived to build itself into a model of upholding the rule of law in school administration. In addition, the school had provided intellectual support for and actively promoted the advancement of the rule of law in Beijing. In particular, the school organized the exhibition with the theme of "Carrying Forward the Spirit of the Constitution, Promoting the Modernization of National Governance System and Governance Capability". It provided counseling and legal services for the development of Beijing, the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and the project of " model law-based grass-roots village in Beijing". Besides, the school provided advice and feedbacks for the legislative activities of Beijing, such as the Measures for the Post-legislative Evaluation of Rules and Regulations of the Beijing Municipality and the Capital Law. The school had also undertaken research projects on the legal perspectives of urban governance in Beijing, such as the one concerning the Beijing Winter Olympic Games. Moreover, the Law School of CUPL had utilized its leading legal resources for the publicity of law. During 2016 and 2020, the Section of Practice-based Teaching had gave practice-based teaching to more than 1,000 students, and had provided legal aids to more than 500 people. Teachers and students of the Law School had participated extensively and regularly in 1,500 legal publicity events in Beijing. Every year, some 200 students participated in the assessment project of the judicial civilization index. In sum, the faculty and students had participated in the advancement of the rule of law in China through multiple channels and on various levels, such as assisting in the law-based epidemic prevention and control. All of these activities have achieved good social response and talent training results.
